Waverly Arts Council Minutes
September 8, 2007 at 7:30 am

The Waverly Arts Council met September 8, 2007 at 7: 30 am at the UMC Fellowship Hall.

Chair McFadden called the meeting to order.

Present:      Mary MaCoy, Carolyn Crawford, Elaine Marsh, Charlene McFadden, Mary Bishop-Jenkins,  Audrey Campbell, Mildred Nichols, Evelyn Brown and Noreen Burgess.

Minutes:         Carolyn made a motion to approve the minutes as emailed.  Mary M. seconded, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: Noreen gave the treasurer's report. Audrey made a motion to approve the treasurer's report. Mary M. seconded, motion carried. (Report attached)

Approval/Raffle: Elaine made a motion to approve the raffle. Noreen seconded motion carried.

Hazel Hill:       No report.

Scenic Byway: Evelyn reported that the Management Plan was mailed on Sept. st.

CWHF Evaluation: Audrey made a motion to approve the CWHF Evaluation with  the six recommendations. Mary M. seconded, motion carried (Evaluation report attached)

Stone Soup:     Elaine reported that there was a stone soup meeting. Linda Burkhardt volunteered to do the story of Stone Soup for the children.  Gabriel will be in charge of the music. The date is set for October 27.

Patriotic Fanfare will be held on November 3, 2007.

Festival of Trees: Noreen reported that the Festival of Trees letters are ready to  be mail to clubs and individuals. Festival of Trees will be held on November 10.

Breakfast with Santa, Homes Tour, soup/chili and silent auction will be held on December 8. Mary J. is working on the Homes tour. There will be a meeting October 9 at 4:30 pm.

Children's book:  Elaine reported on "The Drinking Gourd."

Battle of the Bands:  Gabriel/Elaine will get the bands.

Game Night/Mini skits will begin in January 2008. Mary M. will work on the mini skits. 

Election of Officers; Charlene, Noreen & Audrey were re-elected. Audrey nominated Gabriel Smith as vice president. Noreen seconded, motion carried.

Finance Committee: There will be a Finance Committee meeting September 27 at 8 am at Thomas Hall.

Next meeting: The next WAC Meeting will be October 13 at 7:30 am.
